FESTIVALS
What is your film festival?
It’s a monthly, year‑round celebration of storytelling, showcasing films from local creators, emerging talent, and voices from around the world. Each event is designed to be welcoming, community‑focused, and accessible for all ages.
How often do the festivals run?
We host a screening every month, with each with a different theme. Each one is unique, offering a fresh mix of films and experiences.
Where does the festival take place?
Our screenings are held in Leicester. Venues may vary depending on availability, but all are chosen for comfort, atmosphere, and accessibility.
Who can submit a film?
Anyone. We welcome filmmakers of all backgrounds. If you have a story to tell, we want to see it.
What types of films do you accept?
We accept short films of all genres. Each month has its own theme or focus, so there’s always a place for different styles of storytelling.
How do I submit my film?
Submissions are handled through FilmFreeway. Just upload your film, fill in the details, and you’re all set. You’ll receive a confirmation as soon as your entry is submitted.
Is there a submission fee?
Yes. There is a small fee, which helps us run the festival, and keep screenings affordable for audiences. We keep costs as low as possible to stay accessible.
How are films selected?
Our team reviews every submission carefully. We look for strong storytelling, creativity, emotional impact, and films that fit the theme of the month. We aim for a diverse, engaging lineup at every event.
Do filmmakers get feedback?
Yes. Where possible, we offer constructive feedback to help filmmakers grow. We also encourage networking at events so creators can connect with each other and the audience.
Do selected filmmakers get free tickets?
Filmmakers whose work is selected receive 2 half-price tickets to the screening their film appears in.
Are the events family‑friendly?
Many of our screenings are suitable for 18+ only, due to the unpredictability of the content selected, but if some events are suitable for younger ages, we will work hard to notify you in advance if this is the case.
How long is each event?
Most screenings run for 90–120 minutes, including introductions, the film programme, and a 10 minute interval.
Can I buy tickets on the door?
Our events tickets are available online only via Eventbrite.
Do you offer group or school bookings?
Absolutely. We welcome school groups, youth clubs, and community organisations. Get in touch and we’ll help arrange the best experience for your group.
Is the venue accessible?
We will always endeavour to secure venues where accessibility is available.
Can I volunteer at the festival?
Yes. We’re always looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to help with events. It’s a great way to meet filmmakers, gain experience, and be part of Leicester’s creative community.
